The Sneaky Mommy Strikes

Posted by Ling | Labels: Best Blogger Tips
The mommy is obsessed with taking pictures of her boy (of the little precious moments that will slip by if you aren't paying attention). Already I don't have the heart to return to work as I witness his amusing development day by day.
Here's a little entertainment for you:

"Mommy......sneaking on me again?"
I love this really surprised expression.
Ever wonder why there's always an unglam-looking hanky near his cheek?
Cos' when Jae gets excited...
...he drools!
It saves me and the hubby washing bedsheets every other day. We're pretty much 身经百战 caretakers now.

Was It A Smooth Or Bumpy Ride?

Posted by Ling | Labels: Best Blogger Tips
Whenever a parent tries out a new thing/routine/toy/place (you get the idea right?), we usually start out with this skittery-jittery feeling, mixed with excitement and apprehensiveness, as we don't know how our lil' one will react.

It was time for lil' Jae to try out the car seat we had bought at close to $300. Half of me lamented that I should have started training Jae in his car seat earlier as I heard many incidents of toddlers not adapting well because they started late.

Out of kiasu-ism, we train Jaeden at 8 weeks...

And he was fascinated with the sights and motion, chuckles aloud to himself whenever we put him in.
He survived 1 hour in our first trial before fussing. Good job Jaeden!

And clearly enjoys himself :) Mummy and Papa are relieved!

To Jaeden @8 Weeks...

Posted by Ling | Labels: Best Blogger Tips
Jaeden boy, you're now 8 weeks old. More often than bringing frowns to us, you bring smiles aplenty to Mummy and Papa.
Though you have your quirks of not being able to nap in unfamiliar places, and you fuss quite a bit about it, Mummy and Papa are proud of you because you may be all bright-eyed and alert when we disturb your bedtime routine by bringing you out, we can just leave you on the cot (bed) after and you'll quietly lie by yourself till you gradually drift off to dreamland. This is no mean feat!

We're blessed that you hardly whine over wet diapers, and you don't poo in the night. You're truly a bunny who does "work" in the day. Even though you haven't managed to sleep through your night feeds, Mummy and Papa are not complaining because you can be put back to cot after feeding and you'll try to fall back to sleep yourself. Mummy and Papa are so proud of you!

Continue to grow healthily and be happy every single day, Mummy and Papa find it all worth the tiredness to see those little smiles and heart-melting expressions you give ♥♥♥!

1st Trial with Play Gym

Posted by Ling | Labels: Best Blogger Tips
At 7 weeks plus, my bunny's cheeks seemed to have fluffed up a little. But it's every mummy's delight to see their babies with pinchable cheeks, isn't it? The hubby has started calling him "my lil' sack of rice" since he now weighs slightly over 5kg.
<6 Sep 2011>
I ran out of nursery songs to sing to Jaeden today and decided to let him try the play gym.
<6 Sep 2011>
It had his attention for all but a few minutes before he decides to peer out the window instead.
Oh well, I shall give it another go when he's bigger.

Amazing Lessons

Posted by Ling | Labels: Best Blogger Tips
I'm back, and newly promoted to newbie mom status!

As a new mom I've realised......

The alarm clock doesn't work anymore! The baby's wails for feeds are more effective.
The hubby doesn't rely on the iPhone alarm to wake him nowadays as our baby is one bright and early chirpy bunny every morning (Saturdays and Sundays inclusive omg) :)

Time management is of essence.
I've learnt to do the laundry, prepare and cook my meals, do my pumping plus all the nitty gritty in the house in between Jae's naps, so that I'm one cool mom, ready for his feeds when he wakes.

A whole new world of abbreviations and vocabulary
See how many of these can you get right in a mummy's dictionary:
EBM,BM,FM,IFC,MIL,TBF

Parenthood is such a tremendous transition into a significant stage of any couple's life, that I do think all parents are commendable when they embark on this amazing journey. Wish me all the best as I soldier on, it will be an interestingly rewarding experience.
